25 Wednesdays

Yesterday was Wednesday. I calculated that since I was 18 years old, I have worked approximately 2300 Wednesdays. I also calculated that I have 25 Wednesdays left. I will be retiring in May 2026.

I text my kids this fact and I didn't get too much sympathy as they calculated the number of Wednesdays they have left in their career and it was a lot more than 25.

I always disliked Wednesdays. It always felt overwhelming and daunting. In the old days, we had to wear business casual which meant no jeans and I grew tired finding the right outfit or not being comfortable. Later in my career, we looked forward to Jeans Friday which we had to pay for, but it was well worth the dollar investment.

Now that I am on the Wednesday countdown, I find myself very nostalgic. I think I will still dislike Wednesdays but there is hope that in 25 Wednesday, my life will look different.

This blog is about my history of work, the things I learned along the way, regrets and accomplishments. It is more of a personal therapeutic endeavor but maybe someone else will find it interesting.

I plan to blog every Wednesday so stay tuned!
