This week I was watching David Muir, ABC correspondent for World News Tonight and he was paying tribute to his long-time retiring stage manager. This woman was obviously a master in her class and highly respected by everyone in the business. In her short interview the stage manager said she just needed to "take a breath" and that was the reason for walking away from her thriving career.

This clip made me think a lot about taking a breath. I spend time talking with clients about breath work, square breathing, deep breathing and taking a breath pause. The breath allows us to reset and energizes our body and mind.

The same is probably true about taking a breath during retirement. It is way to slow the busyness of life and take a look around. Taking a breath might also mean looking for the new or different outlook or seeing an event in a very different way.

As we enter the Holiday season, I would challenge everyone to just take a breath and relax and live in the moment. My friends, the Buddhists state " Be where you are otherwise you miss your life".

I retire in 20 Wednesdays but I really don't need to retire to take a breath!
